A large sod grower in Arizona needed a way to manage orders, determine harvesting needs, and then group the deliveries in a way that reduced their cost of delivery, by maximizing truck loads and reducing truck mileage.
CustomBytes created an internal web-based order entry system that helps them quickly enter orders while on the phone with customers, provides reports and email blasts to ensure harvesting is correctly completed in a timely manner, and then routes the trucks using an algorithm designed to quickly determine the largest possible loads (20 pallets of sod per truck) and shortest routes once the truck is loaded.
Once the orders are invoiced, the invoices are automatically transferred into Quickbooks.
