A company with over 35 title pawn shops — they lend short-term money to people with suspect credit by using their car or their upcoming paycheck as collateral — needed a way to centralize their loan/pawn record-keeping and to produce reports without the time-consuming task of manually collecting the data from each store and summarizing it using spreadsheets.
After showing the client the difference between a web application and a Citrix-based Windows application to do the type of application they wanted and the possible environments to handle 100+ stores via a centralized administration infrastructure, the client chose the Citrix solution and we used SQL Server and .NET to create a Windows-based application that would track the client’s pawn/loan from beginning to end, produce over 30 reports — including district-level and operations-level summary reports — and manage each store’s checking and savings accounts, as well as synchronize all activity with QuickBooks (now Intacct cloud-based accounting solution) for their accounting department to manage their corporate cash flow.
Our quote was half the price of our agency competition, with a few more features the competition hadn’t considered.
Our relationship with this company has been ongoing for over 10 years.
